Site Help
Welcome to the Sweet & Maxwell website, in the following section you will find information about the key changes we have made to our website.

Click here to see an interactive overview of our new site.

You can use any of the following 4 options to search for products:

  • Free text search - from the top right of every page type in any part of or complete product name, practice area or keyword, select go and you will be taken to a page of relevant results. If you input a generic term you will receive a higher number of results and can use the guided navigation to the left to refine your results (see details below).
  • Guided navigation - on the left of the Products landing page or when viewing a set of search results you can refine your search using one or more dimensions - displayed dimensions are Product Type (e.g. book, journal, looseleaf etc.), Practice Area, Author/Editor, Publisher or Publication Date. Each time you select a dimension it will refine your search and reduce the products displayed in the search results.
  • Advanced search - you can use the Advanced Search to search by multiple keywords held in specific fields of information e.g. by keyword, product type and publication date. After clicking Go you will be presented with your search results which can be browsed or refined using the guided navigation
  • Pre-defined searches - on the homepage and various other pages in the site you can clink to access a specific set of search results e.g. Journals only or new and recent titles
Not only have we enhanced the quality of production information, it has also been reorganised into a consistent and easier to follow format. On the search results pages you will find more relevant information and on the product information pages you will find sections of content about each product, for example product description, subscription information, contents lists, a sample issue and links to microsites for further information.

Over the coming months we will be continuously adding content to these sections.
Purchasing products from our website is quick and easy. You can add products to your shopping basket from any product search results or product information page. All selected products will appear in your shopping basket on the right of every page. When you are ready to complete your transaction just click Checkout and you will be taken to your shopping basket where you can amend product quantities - from here you can checkout in 3 simple steps.

We know that some people do not want to set-up online accounts to purchase products, so you can skip this and move straight to the pages for adding your billing and delivery address and payment details. If you would like to have an online account to save your billing address and delivery details you can quickly set one up - we do not store your card details on the site.

If you have a Sweet & Maxwell Payer account you can enter this during the checkout process and you will be invoiced for your products.
Now you can find lots of more useful information on our website. We’ve added a new customer support section where you will find answers to many frequently asked questions and information about some of our processes.

You will also find forms to help you get in contact with specific teams – please fill in as much detail as possible to help us respond to you quickly. You will also find full contact details for different areas of the business in the contact us section.

Over the coming months we will continue to add new content to support you – let us now if you think some information is missing.
All sections of the site have been revised and new information added e.g. subscription information, conferences and events, booksellers, lecturers and students and our businesses.
Our site will continue to evolve to better meet our customers’ needs, and we always welcome feedback and comments on the website. If you would like give us your feedback, click here to fill in the feedback form.
